VL200 EVCM LONG BED ELECTRONIC VARIABLE SPEED LATHE
| The VL200 Lathe has the capacity of a full size
lathe and offers many features such as tapered roller bearings,
indexing facility and hole through both spindles. A fully cast
iron lathe, mounted on a solid constructed steel stand, gives
the turner a vibration free machine. The new redesigned stand features 5mm steel, wide footprint, storage space and easy discharge wood shaving shute. |
|
Features include: Extra heavy-duty castings for the headstock, lathe bed, banjo and tailstock. Heavy-duty 5mm folded plate steel base with integral shavings chute. 700mm wide footprint, integral levelling bolts and pre drilled anchor points. The base is predrilled and threaded for fitting the optional outboard turning attachment, allowing diameters of up to 900mm to be turned. One piece headstock spindle machined from K1045 steel with adjustable taper roller bearings. 15mm knockout hole, 2 Morse taper and M33 x 3.5 thread and is fitted with a chromed hand wheel for easy rotation of the work piece. Outboard turning adapter with chuck locking collar for secure large diameter inboard / outboard turning. 24 point combination indexing / spindle lock with index number viewing window. J10 poly “V” drive belt gives maximum power transmission. Easy belt change via access door in cabinet front panel, the drive ratios can be changed in under a minute. Drive ratios are 3: 1, 2: 1, 1: 1 giving speeds ranging from 10 to 1000, 20 to 2000 and 30 to 3000 rpm via proven electronic variable speed control unit giving constant speed readout. 2hp (1.5Kw) With the option of 3hp (2.2Kw) 3 phase high quality electric motor with anti-vibration mountings. 240 Volt Single phase supply. Built in phase converter and radio interference filter. Electronics control; maximum rpm, minimum rpm, acceleration ramps, deceleration ramps and feeds in more torque as required, all pre-set by the manufacturer for optimum performance and power. Cast iron Poly “V” Drive & spindle pulleys. A 300mm (12”) tool rest with a post diameter of 30mm comes with the lathe, longer and shorter lengths of toolrest are available as well as larger diameter faceplates. Toolpost locking levers are fitted with a phosphor bronze /brass pellet which gives a far superior grip on the tool posts than the normal steel to steel contact. Tailstock has a lever operated camlock with 2 MT self-ejecting quill, 65mm of travel. Large tailstock footprint for maximum grip and ease of movement. The quill also has a stop pin to prevent accidental removal from the tailstock during drilling operations as well as the quill-locking lever. The lathe bed is precision ground for accuracy and ease of banjo and tailstock movement. The switchgear consisting of separate on / off buttons, a forward / reverse switch and speed control knob are conveniently located along the panel immediately below the bed at the headstock end. An emergency stop bar runs the whole length of the front of the lathe at thigh height. The lathe is covered by a twelve month guarantee against manufacturing defects. STANDARD EQUIPMENT INCLUDES: 125mm (5”) Cast Iron Faceplate, Adjustable point, 22mm dia 4 prong drive dog. Heavy duty double bearing tail centre. Knock out bar and Faceplate removal spanner. 300mm (12”) Toolrest. Owners manual.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS Large diameter outboard turning attachment. “S” shaped bowl toolrest. Dedicated thread chucks VM100 & VM120. Cast iron 3 point centre steady (80mm dia). Magnetic remote switch with 1.5m cable. Longer and shorter tool rests Three point steadies. VITAL STATISTICS Swing over the bed is 400mm (24"). Between centres is 1000mm (39"). The centre height ie; the measurement from the floor to the centre of the spindle is 1180mm (46 1/2"). The complete lathe weighs 350kgs (660 lbs). Overall length of the lathe is 0000 mm (47"). Length of the stand is 0000 mm (39"). Width of the stand 700mm (27 1/2"). The lathe can be bolted to the floor using the pre drilled anchor points, however it is recommended that some form of insulation is placed between the lathe and the floor. E.g cork tile or rubber matting. NOTE The floor needs to be reasonably flat otherwise bolting it down to an uneven floor can affect the alignment of the lathe.
