This revolutionary new tool gate for hollowing tools has been designed by an amateur turner Mick Webb. The Webby Captivgate
Mick loves making hollow forms but got very frustrated with not being able to grip the tools due to severe arthritis in his wrist, elbow and shoulder. He has had to have his wrist plated which has restricted his movement even more. ( not due to the amount of turning he does :-)
He needed something that could take all the strain out of hollowing.

The result is THE WEBBY!

By holding the tool shaft in place, all the forces generated by the downward rotation of the wood are eliminated, taking all the strain and pressure off of your wrists, arms and shoulders.
The tool is swept from side to side as the the gate pivots on the built in swivel.
There is no easier or more comfortable way of using hollowing tools, just ask Mick.

The Webby is in two parts, the gate, and the pivot and is available in two sizes. One to hold 1/2 ins (13mm) dia tools and the other to hold 5/8 ins (16mm) dia tools. If you have a need for both sizes of gate you will only need one pivot. In use you leave the pivot on the tool post and just change the the gate, there is a small grub screw to stop it lifting off the pivot while still letting the gate rotate.

The pivot screws on to the top of the tool posts used for the Woodcut Bowlsaver, the Pro-Mount Detailing Stand and the Irons Toolgate, these are sold separately to the Webby.
